I know from first hand experience what record companies are looking for. I worked directly for Jive Records for 13 years, both as in-house producer/engineer and as a director in the A&R department.

Obviously you need a hit - but if it sounds awful and you can't hear the vocal because it's not mixed properly - it won't get past the receptionist!

Even if you are trying to bypass the label and release an independent record, it has to be to a standard. A very high standard.

Does it matter if you are outside of NY?
No, I have co-produced and mixed both label and indie records from all over the world without ever meeting some artists. You send me your hard drives or dvd's, etc. I'll make it sound great, email the mix to you, we then make any changes you may have until it's right.

I have worked on records selling over 100 million copies, including 2 Grammy winning records and several other nominees. I have had success in all genres of music including pop, rock, r&b, hip hop and gospel.
